WILKES-BARRE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — UPDATE: Wilkes-Barre City Police have released more information about Saturday night’s standoff.
According to the Wilkes-Barre City Police Department’s Facebook page, Patrick Evans was spotted by officers on patrol who were aware he was wanted on felony drug and gun charges. Evans fled from a vehicle and entered the residence at 53 Johnson Street.
Police attempted to make contact with Evans and a woman who was inside the house as well. The Pennsylvania State Police SERT team was requested to the scene and they also tried to make contact with Evans.
Family members of the woman made contact with her and she agreed to leave the house after four hours. After several more hours of Evans refusing to surrender, the SERT team used enforcement tactics to force his surrender.
He was taken into custody without further incident.
He faces felony drug trafficking and gun charges, as well as flight to avoid apprehension and reckless endangerment.
The investigation is ongoing and further charges are pending.

An hours-long standoff caused commotion along Johnson Street on the city’s north end.
It started around 3 o’clock.. The road was then closed until it ended around 10 Saturday night.
There is no word as of now on what started the incident.
