KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Police are investigating a shooting Tuesday night in Kingston.
At least one person was injured. A quiet night in Kingston quickly turned into police sirens and flashing lights just after 8 p.m. The shooting occurred at the end of Dean Court near Reese Park.
According to police, when they arrived on scene, a male victim had a gunshot wound to his leg. It is believed he was taken to Wilkes-Barre General.
“He’s in surgery. We do believe the people involved here knew each other. I don’t at this point think there is a public threat. Like I said the male is in surgery and as of right now he is being uncooperative,” Chief Rich Kotchik said.
“I just heard gunshots, came out. I seen an individual running in front of my house. That was basically what I seen. Not like this no, no shootings, always have a little bit of whatever going on but nothing like this,” neighbor Steve Vassello said.
Chief Kotchik says they are looking for a male in all black clothing who ran from the scene. Shell casings and a pistol believed to be used were found at the scene.
The investigation is ongoing at this time.
