Two teenagers shot, one dead in Monroe County robbery

POLK TOWNSHIP, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Police are investigating a robbery turned shooting that left one person dead Sunday night.

According to a report from police, officers were dispatched around 7 p.m. to Rainbow Terrace in Polk Township.

Police say that three teens were in a vehicle stopped at the location when multiple assailants approached their car and robbed them. During this time, multiple shots were fired into the vehicle striking two of the three occupants.

The first victim, 15-year-old Aiden Paiz from Kunkletown, died at the scene from his injuries. He was a student at Pleasant Valley High School. The second victim, a 17-year-old male also from Kunkletown, was taken to a nearby medical center and is in stable condition. The third teen, a 14- year-old, was unharmed. All three were friends according to police.

Police have not stated whether or not they have any suspects at this time but are continuing the investigation. Police say the public is not in any immediate danger. Troopers believe it was a prearranged drug transaction.
