GM vehicles recalled over vacuum pump effectiveness

(WBRE/WYOU) — General Motors is recalling nearly 3.5 million trucks and SUVs.

The affected vehicles include GMC’s Sierra and Yukon, Chevrolet’s Silverado, Suburban and Tahoe, and the Cadillac Escalade. The effectiveness of the vacuum pumps may decrease over time, leading to brake issues which could increase the chance of a crash.

GM will notify owners and dealers will reprogram the electronic brake control module for free.
