KINGSTON TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A house fire that started in Luzerne County is being labeled by Pennsylvania State Police as “suspicious”.

The fire broke out on Mary Street in Kingston Township just before 10 p.m. Sunday. Crews say a 93-year-old woman was pulled from the home uninjured.

A fire that broke out at a home next door over the weekend was deemed “accidental” by police.

“This morning (Sunday) state police fire marshals determined the fire next door was accidental. It does make it suspicious that the house next door caught on fire at the same time the next night, is on fire again but there are some other issues here only the police can talk about,” Gary Beishel, the Shavertown Fire Chief told Eyewitness News.

The home did not sustain much damage and is still livable. The homeowner was assisted by the Red Cross.
