Valley West’s Tyler Yankosky Drafted by Nationals in 19th Round

Wyoming Valley West grad Tyler Yankosky has been selected by the Washington Nationals in the 19th round of the MLB Draft.

The Larksville native, who’s now a junior pitcher at Millersville University, posted a 2.67 ERA out of the bullpen for the Marauders this past season. With the Spartans in high school, Yankosky was named Wyoming Valley Conference player of the year and led Valley West to a pair of District II titles.

Yankosky joins Dante Biasi as the second WVC grad to be selected in this year’s draft. Biasi went in the 6th round to Kansas City.
