PSU Great Blackledge Added to Sugar Bowl Hall of Fame

Former Penn State quarterback Todd Blackledge is now one of 10 people added to the Sugar Bowl Hall of Fame announced Tuesday.

Blackledge used a Sugar Bowl performance to hand Penn State a national championship highlighted by Penn State Athletics in a media release Tuesday.

Blackledge guided the Nittany Lions to their first National Championship in 1982 by winning Most Outstanding Player honors in the 1983 Sugar Bowl. Blackledge threw for 228 yards, including a game-clinching 47-yard touchdown pass to Gregg Garrity in the fourth quarter of the 27-23 win over No. 1 Georgia.”

Blackledge will be inducted at the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1 in New Orleans. He currently works as an college football analyst in the broadcast booth for ABC and ESPN.
