(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Yuengling Brewery of Pottsville is turning 190 and on Thursday Eyewitness News Photojournalist Lonnie Miller got to tag along on a V-I-P tour.
During the visit, members of the media were able to sample beers from Yuengling’s historic vault. They included “Bock” beer, Winner beer and Bourbon Barrel Reserve. There was also food and beer pairings and a live bald eagle! The brewery features hand-dug, fermentation caves originally used in the 1800s for refrigeration.
Yuengling is family-owned and operated by Yuengling’s sixth-generation .. Jennifer, Wendy, Debbie, and Sheryl.
“I think part of the reason we have been successful all of these years is we make a quality product, a consistent product, we are considered a regional brewery we are currently in 22 different states, most recently we rolled out in Arkansas and Kentucky just last year” Said Jennifer Yuengling, VP of Operations.
The celebration continues this summer in Pottsville.
