Your Local Election HQ: Brown Defeats George for Wilkes-Barre Mayor in Primary

News

(WBRE/WYOU-TV)  In the race for Wilkes-Barre Mayor George Brown won the Democratic nomination over incumbent Mayor Tony George.

Brown won by a large margin over George.  Just before 9 pm, Mayor Tony George called George Brown to congratulate him.

 Brown thanked his supporters and the volunteers he referred to as “The Brown Team”.  Brown said he will establish a time and place to meet with residents to discuss issues that are important to them and to make the city better.

There were no Republicans or third-party candidates on the ballot.
