LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV) The November General election is just several weeks away .One of the most watched races is that for seats on Luzerne County Council.

Ten candidates are running foor five seats on the council.

They include five Democrats and five Republicans.

The winners would serve a four year term.

Today we spoke to two of the candidates, Republican Harry Haas who is seeking re-election and Democrat Wendy Cominsky who is running for the first time.

The I-Team’s Andy Mehalshick talked to Haas and Cominsky about their priorities, should they be elected or re-elected office.

“We are looking at governing well and looking at equipping our staff. But I’m not looking to grow governmnent that we don’t need.” Said Haas.
“I start looking into ways the county can start producing it’s own revenues as opposed to relying on property taxes or state funding.” noted Cominsky,
