JIM THORPE, CARBON COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A woman has been charged after police say she threatened officers with a taser and barricaded herself in her home Sunday night in Jim Thorpe.
Police responded to the 600 block of Center Avenue just after 7:00 p.m. for a report of a juvenile being threatened with a knife. When they arrived, police say Kathleen Kattner, 52, threatened officers with a taser and had “some type of torch” in her hand. She allegedly refused to listen to police commands and barricaded herself in the home.
Police say they received information that Kattner may have had a gun and called in the Pennsylvania State Police S.E.R.T. who arrived around 11:30 p.m.
At approximately 11:42 p.m., police say Kattner exited her home without any further incident and was transported to the hospital for evaluation.
Kattner is being charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, harassment and disorderly conduct.
