Wilkes University Commencement

WILKES-BARE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – It’s onto the next chapter for thousands of college students in our area after graduating this weekend.

There was plenty of pomp and circumstance, at the home of the Colonels.  Wilkes University undergraduate students received their diplomas Saturday afternoon inside the Marts Center in Wilkes-Barre, hours after graduate students were presented their degrees.

Among the grads, three siblings who reflected on how far they’ve come and where they’re headed.  “I transferred schools twice, switched majors four times.  It was a long road,” says Jacob Chielli.  “It took a lot to get here.  I’m just thankful for my family and my dad and everyone who’s been so supportive,” says Maria Chielli.  “I plan on pursuing mindfulness in general and maybe working at a resort of some sort,” says Anthony Chielli.

Congratulations to the Chielli siblings and the rest of Wilkes University’s Class of 2017.
