(WBRE/WYOU-TV) The City of Wilkes-Barre 39th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade will be held on Sunday, March 10.
The parade route will begin at South Main and South Streets and will travel along South Main to Public Square, ending at North Main and Union streets.
The parade will be led by the 2019 Grand Marshal Thomas F. Malloy, Sr. He will be joined by his wife Alicia R. (McCabe) Malloy. Their two sons, Thomas F. Jr. and Michael J. Malloy will follow directly behind their father, as they play the bagpipes and drum The Wyoming Valley Pipe and Drum Band. Malloy is a lifelong resident of Wilkes-Barre and is the Magistrate for Luzerne County District Court 11-1-02.
Malloy was on the Wyoming Valley Children’s Association (WVCA) Board of Directors for 25 years and is a Past President of the board. Malloy is very proud of his family’s Irish heritage, having participated in the annual Wilkes-Barre St. Patrick’s Day Parade for decades. He and his family have supported the parade by driving company vans advertising their family’s business and driving the Grand Marshals: Joseph Coyne in 2016 and Joseph Moran in 2017.
The annual parade’s participants include local leaders, non-profit organizations, businesses, youth groups, pageant title holders, and local emergency response units. This year, there are over 100 groups organized within 6 parade divisions.

Service Electric Cable TV and Communications and WYLN TV 35 have partnered to broadcast live television coverage of the City of Wilkes-Barre 39th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade. The pre-parade show begins at 2:00 PM with the parade to follow. The parade can be seen on Service Electric Cable TV and Communications Wilkes-Barre Channel 7,
