   * International Flavors, a buffet of international dishes sponsored by Honesdale Rotary. Supports local and global projects, including local Boy & Girl Scouts, food pantries and Rotary International’s Student Exchange Program. Saturday, November 3rd, 5:00pm-7:30pm, Honesdale High School, 459 Terrace Street, Honesdale. Tickets $15 adults, $10 children. *The Church of St. Catherine of Siena Altar & Rosary, 220 Church St., Moscow, PA will host its annual Christmas Bazaar on November 3 from 10 a.m.-6:30 p.m. and November 4 from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. in Kelly Hall located in the downstairs of the church.  Kick off your holiday season with a wide variety of delicious foods and homemade soups, over 50 tricky trays, raffles, handmade crafts, as well as a book sale, bake sale and Christmas Attic Treasures. All proceeds from this event benefit the church, the North Pocono Food Pantry, and St. Francis of Assisi Kitchen.  Admission and parking are free.

*November 3, 2018 The Russell Hill United Methodist Church in Tunkhannock will host a Ham Dinner from 4:00 to 6:00 pm Take outs available at 3:30, Tickets for Adults $10, Children 6+12 yrs $ 5

 . * The SPCA of Luzerne County will be hosting its 7th Annual Bone Appétit Dinner event on Sunday, November 4 at the Woodlands Inn and Resort from 4-7 PM.  This event highlights fabulous food from local restaurants and wineries throughout our community.  Live Music and raffle chances also to be enjoyed.   PA Live Host Dave Kuharchik will be there-  Check out the PA Live Kitchen segments here on PA Homepage for a preview of some of the great restaurants that will  be featured!

What’s Going on at the Cooperage  (The Cooperage is located at 1030 Main Street in Honesdale

*   The Cooperage for our monthly Game Night. Bring your own game from home to  share and teach. We also have a selection to play from including Caftan, Scrabble and Dominion. All ages are welcome to come join in the fun. Bring a friend or make a friend! Game Night will continue to be held on the 3rd Thursday of every month. 6 pm to 9 pm

*The Main Street Farmers’ Market returns to The Cooperage, November 3

The Main Street Farmers’ Market will return to 1030 Main Street on Saturday’s from 11:00am to1:00pm beginning on November 3, 2018. This market strives to provide the greater Honesdale community with access to superb local agricultural products. The Market is a vibrant and friendly gathering of exemplary local producers and enthusiastic consumers, connecting through a mutual appreciation for each other and for our regional foodscape.

*The second concert in the 2018-2019 Arts at First Presbyterian concert series will be held on Sunday, November 11 at 4 pm. This event will feature all the musical ensembles at the church along with vocal and instrumental soloists and ensembles. The church is located at 300 School Street in Clarks Summit.  This event is open to the public, free of charge, but a free-will offering will be taken. The concert series receives support from the Pennsylvania Partners in the Arts Program (administered by the Pocono Arts Council), a Lackawanna County Arts & Cultural Grant, and numerous individual donors.

*On November 16th and 17th at 7:30pm the students of the Uptown Music Collective will celebrate the school’s 30th Major Performance, by paying tribute to the big hair, big voices, and really big guitars of the style known as “Anthem Rock”, “Dad Rock”, “Corporate Rock”, or most commonly “Arena Rock”. The performance,More Than a Feeling: 70’s Arena Rock, will feature the music of rock icons Boston, Kansas, Styx, Journey, and Foreigner, brought to the stage as only the energetic and talented students of the Uptown Music Collective can. This show is sponsored in part by Fairfield Auto Group & PPL Electric Utilities.  For the complete list of ticket vendors, sponsors, and other details about the show visit or call 570-329-0888. * An upcoming continuing education program at Marywood University will examine issues veterans face and discuss resources they need. “Serving and Understanding our Veterans: Suicide Prevention, PTSD and Trauma Treatment, Regional Resources” will be presented on Friday, November 16, 2018, from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., in the Upper Main Dining Hall, at the Nazareth Student Center on the University’s campus. This program offers continuing education credits for a variety of professionals, including psychologists, counselors, educators, and social workers. The program fee is $125, which includes CEUs, program, breakfast, and lunch. Members of the military and veterans will receive 20 percent off course registration. Registrations made before November 1, 2018, will receive 10 percent off the course price. *Three works of art created by a graphic design faculty member at Pennsylvania College of Technology will be exhibited in Manhattan during November.

Wood engravings crafted by David M. Moyer, assistant professor of graphic design, have been selected for inclusion in “The Print Effect: Small Works/Big Impact” at Manhattan Graphics Center, 250 W. 40th St., between Seventh and Eighth Avenues in New York’s artistic garment district.

With an opening reception set for Saturday, Nov. 3, the exhibition dates are Nov. 1-30.

*Bloomsburg University of Pennsylvania presents James McClintock, Ph.D., endowed university professor of polar and marine biology at the University of Alabama at Birmingham who will speak on “The Dramatic Impacts of Climate Change on the Antarctic Peninsula,” on Wednesday, Nov. 14, at 7 p.m. in Carver Hall, Gross Auditorium.

*The V. Rev. John D. Sorochka, pastor of St. John’s Russian Orthodox Cathedral, Mayfield, and the parishioners have announced the dates for the 27th Annual Christmas Bazaar. The 3 day event will take place on November 9, 10 & 11 at the Parish Center on Hill Street, Mayfield. Hours for the Bazaar are as follows: Friday, Nov. 9 & Saturday, Nov. 10– 11 AM to 7 PM and Sunday, Nov. 11 – 11 AM to 3 PM.  The public is invited to attend. Admission is free. *Homemade holiday crafts are on the agenda when the Pocono Garden Club meets on Tuesday, November 13, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Monroe County Conservation District, located at 8050 Running Valley Road, Bartonsville, Pa.  Club member Brenda Abraham, a floral designer, will demonstrate how to create a holiday table design.

Participation is encouraged in the monthly design exhibit, titled “American Pride,” in honor of Veterans Day. This diagonal arrangement should incorporate red and white silk or fresh flowers in a blue container. No accessory permitted. 

The horticultural entry would be a collection of dried plant material such as flowers, grasses, seed pods, leaves and berries, in a container of the exhibitor’s choice. Include five or more species.

The houseplant entry would be any flowering houseplant.

Please bring in your entries 30 minutes before the start of the meeting.

SUN P.E.T.S. will be hosting the Allegheny Spay and Neuter Clinic Bus on    and November 12.  This low cost spay and neuter service is open to all male and female dog breeds as well as male cats. The cost is $125 per dog or $50 per male cat. Rabies vaccination is included. Everyone is welcome to apply regardless of income. *The Lake-Lehman Band Sponsors Annual Fall and Holiday Craft Show will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 17th at the Lake-Lehman Jr./Sr. High School.
Just in time for celebrating Thanksgiving and Christmas, up to 100 crafters will be on site offering holiday gift items and home decor.  The Cafeteria will be open to serve you all day with delicious lunch items and homemade baked goods.

Admission is free and all proceeds benefit the Lake-Lehman Jr./Sr. High School Band Programs.  All ages are welcome.  There will be a kids coloring contest and a door prize contest this year.

The Lake-Lehman Band Craft Show supports all of the band students and programs at Lake-Lehman Jr./Sr. High School.

 The Luzerne County Historical Society announces new hours at the Bishop Library and LCHS Museum for 2018, starting January 3, 2018.
