WAYNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — A Wayne County man is in jail on charges of criminal homicide.

Cole Francis Dufton, 25, of Pleasant Mount has been charged with criminal homicide for the shooting death of  Suzette Bullis, 51, was pronounced dead from a bullet wound to the head in her home on Como Road in Preston Township December 18th, 2018.

According to a criminal complaint, State Troopers say Diufton had been seen by a neighbor arguning with Bullis a few weeks before the shooting, screaming that he had been “shorted $1,500”, and was demanding Bullis pay the money back. The witness also said that before leaving Bullis’ home at that time he had pulled a black handgun out of his waistband and said “…he was going to kill the guy that stiffed him.”

Dufton’s girlfriend, Alexa Sampson, interviewed the day after the shooting, said she and Dufton had been shopping in New York and when they returned he told her he needed to go to Suzette Bullis’ house to “talk to her about something.” He returned about a half hour later.

A preliminary hearing has been set for nine o’clock Wednesday morning, February 6th. He’s being held in the Wayne County Jail without bail.
