BRIDGEWATER TOWNSHIP, SUSQUEHANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Lace up your sneakers! It’s time to ‘Walk with a Doc.’
Endless Mountain Health Systems is trying to better your health. 40 people took time out of their day to walk at the hospital.
Dr. Hassan Khalil, MD led the group on a half an hour walk around campus. “Walk with a Doc” is a national initiative to keep people moving for a better tomorrow, through movement and conversation. Alicia Bedell, Clinic Team Manager at the hospital helped plan Monday’s event to bring the community together and interact in a different setting.
“We were just hoping that we could get them out on a beautiful day outside these walls. Communicate with each other with the doctors, with the staff that they see,” said Bedell.
Walkers who came out say this event is motivating. “I think people are more challeneged when they’re with a group. You get lazy when you don’t want to walk alone. You’ll go so far and say “oh I am done,” said Debra Wadge of Kingsley.
“Walk with a Doc” will continue each month from now until November. Click here to see when and where.
