Vigil held for Phylicia Thomas 15 years after her disappearance

News

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Monday marked 15 years since a woman from Luzerne County went missing.

Family and friends held a candlelight vigil for Phylicia Thomas at Patriot Square in Nanticoke.  The 22-year-old disappeared after attending a house party in Sweet Valley.

Phylicia’s mom, Pauline Bailey, believes her daughter was murdered and buried somewhere in the Hunlock Creek area.

Loved ones exchanged hugs, lit candles, and said prayers to keep Phylicia’s memory alive and prevent her case from getting cold.

Even “Breeze”, one of the cadaver dogs that helped out during a search last June, stopped by to show her support.

Phylicia’s family set up a tipline: (570) 328-4957.  Callers can stay anonymous.
