Vacant home catches fire in Luzerne County


NESCOPECK, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Dozens of firefighters from two counties scrambled to battle an early morning fire on Thursday in Nescopeck.

The fire started around 5:30am Thursday in a vacant home on Schlay Street. A neighbor noticed the flames and called emergency crews.

Firefighters say the home has been vacant for a few months. Investigators are trying to figure out how the fire started.
