BLOOMSBURG, COLUMBIA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Update: The Columbia County Coroner has identified the body of a man who died in a Sunday fire.
The Coroner’s Office identified him as Fabio Adragna, Age 40 an Italian National, who was temporarily residing at the fire-damaged home at 337 Fair Street. Coroner Jeremy Reese confirmed Adragna died at the scene.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Adragna on Tuesday, May 21st, at Lehigh Valley Medical Center-Cedar Crest in Allentown. Cause and Manner of Death are pending the autopsy and toxicology results.
Coroner Reese and Sgt. Michael Fosse of the Bloomsburg Police made contact with Adragna’s family in Italy with the assistance of the Italian Consulate office in Philadelphia. The fire remains under investigation.
Update: 12:45 pm – The body of a person who was missing after a massive fire in Bloomsburg Sunday morning has been found.
The person’s identity has not been released.
The search for a missing person after a massive fire in Columbia County is resuming today.
Flames broke out in a double-block home on Fair Street in Bloomsburg Sunday morning. The fire chief says it took only a few minutes for the blaze to engulf the entire home.
It took crews nearly six hours to get the fire under control.
Four people lived in the home. One is still unaccounted for.
Investigators are not releasing the name of the missing person at this time.
“I’m speechless because I’ve never seen anything like that up close, and it was so hot I couldn’t even stand at my front door, it was just fear,” Bonnie Fulop, a neighbor, said.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
