Update: Armed standoff in Nanticoke Over- Man Surrenders

NANTICOKE, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — UPDATE: 1:05 pm-  The man who kept the police at bay during a standoff in Nanticoke has surrendered.   Nanticoke Police Chief says 31 year old Andrew Blake surrendered peacefully just before 1 o’clock. He held police at bay for nearly four hours allegedly threatening to harm anyone who approached his home at 217 West Green Street.

Sections of West Green Street in Nanticoke were closed at this time as police are engaged in an armed standoff with a man who has barricaded himself inside his home.

The standoff started just before 10 am today at a home on the 200 block of West Green Street. 

No word at this time on what prompted the man to barricade himself in his home, or what, if any, weapons he currently has.
