University of Scranton Freshman Give Back to the Community

SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Some college students in Scranton are heading back to school a little earlier than the rest of their classmates to help out the community..
 
      Several dozen university of Scranton freshman are spending the day helping out at local nonprofits through the “First” Program..
      Their volunteer work ranges from visiting with elderly patients to helping out at a soup kitchen and assisting with summer programs for children.


      Eyewitness News caught up with some volunteers giving back at the Bellevue Center in Scranton.
