UGI Pilot Program

News

RIVERSIDE, NORTHUMBERLAND COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) UGI will be launching a new pilot program in Northumberland County..

A groundbreaking was held this morning for the company’s second phase in a natural gas pipeline project in riverside.
They also launched a new ‘growth extension tariff’ known as, ‘get gas’.
It is a  program that will allow nearly 600 residents and businesses to tap into their natural gas service without paying a 31-hundred dollar flat fee.
Over ten years customers could be charged a small fee for the installation from the line to their homes.
This is the first for UGI  in northeastern Pennsylvania.

“Customers are already facing a cost of converting their equipment so to have an added cost up front to receive service is a significant burden, so this program takes that away.  ” said Bob Stoyko, UGI Vice President of Marketing

UGI is looking to spend 75-million dollars on this pilot program and will invest more than 3-million dollars to serve riverside over the life of the project.
