Hazleton, Luzerne County (WBRE/WYOU) — State police are investigating a stabbing which led to gunfire in downtown Hazleton early Monday morning.
The Hazleton police chief tells Eyewitness News that a woman was stabbed several times on East Broad Street around 2:30 Monday morning.
A security guard from a nearby bar and restaurant came outside and fired his gun at the man who attacked the woman with a knife.
Both the man and woman were flown to the hospital, but are expected to be ok.
The security guard was licensed to carry a gun.
