Tunkhannock community proud of Tigers World Series run

TUNKHANNOCK, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — After an incredible run, the Tunkhannock Tigers fell in the championship game of the Little League Softball World Series on Wednesday night, 3-0, to Wheelersburg, Ohio.

The tournament was played in Portland, Oregon, but the Tigers have the support of their community back here at home.

Watch parties for the Little League Softball World Series took place all over Tunkhannock.

Eyewitness News reporter Kelly Choate caught up with some fans as they watched the girls on the big screen at the Dietrich Theater.

Congratulations to the Tunkhannock girls on an outstanding and memorable postseason!

A parade will take place this Saturday at 4 p.m. starting at Ace Robbins and ending at the high school.
