WILLIAMSPORT, LYCOMING COUNTY(WBRE/WYOU-TV) – The trial continued today for a man police say was involved in the shooting and killing of two people inside a Williamsport home.
That shooting took place on Halloween in 2016.
All witnesses finished taking the stand today for day two of the trial.
The attorneys also gave their closing arguments.
Joseph Coleman is one of three people facing charges in a connection with a double murder that took place in a home on Poplar Street in 2016.
He is accused of killing 50 year old Kristine Kibler and her son, 25 year old Shane Wright.
Today, Kibler’s daughter, Cheyanna Wright took the stand.
She recalled what happened that Halloween night, including having a gun pointed in her face.
After Cheyanna testified, closing arguments began.
Robert Hoffa, Joseph Coleman’s private attorney said, “Tragic incident..no one should have to go through this.”
He also told the jury to take credibility into consideration.
He said, “None of the officers who testified can lead you to conclusion Coleman was involved in conspiracy. You can’t even tell if Joseph’s DNA was on the gun.”
Martin Wade, Lycoming County Assistant District Attorney stated in his closing argument, “How could someone who is completely innocent have so much evidence about him?”
He also said, “Experts found Coleman’s DNA on the gun. Obviously DNA results are correct.”
After closing arguments the jury was let go for recess until tomorrow morning when they will be charged with the case and go into deliberations.
Jordan Rawls, another suspect in the double murder is awaiting trial.
