Time Capsule Unveils A Century Of History

News

Danville, Montour County — An area hospital is unveiling a century of history!

Officials at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville opened a time capsule that was buried about 100 years ago.  They carefully sifted through old photos, a bible, and even some rare currency.

To put things in perspective, when this box was buried, Woodrow Wilson was President and a gallon of milk was just 35 cents a gallon.

President and CEO Dr. David Feinberg credits the success to founder Abigail Geisinger, a woman with a vision way ahead of her time.

He said her fighting spirit continues to inspire the Geisinger community, and the staff’s dedication to patients will hopefully keep people coming here for another century.

Another time capsule will be buried at a new healing garden on the property, and that box includes books, photos, and videos for the people of the future.
