Thosands left without power in Luzerne County

News

KINGSTON, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Thousands were left to deal with power problems tonight in parts of Luzerne County.

Goldstein’s Deli in Kingston went dark, as well as traffic lights, and other surrounding homes and businesses.
PPL reports upwards of $2,000 customers lost electricity throughout Kingston, Edwardsville, Larksville and surrounding areas.
The blackout began around 6 P.M. on what PPL blames as a tripped breaker or blown fuse.
It also affected a wedding reception at Black Diamond American Legion Post 395 on Wyoming Avenue.
According to the newlyweds, the power went out right after the toast, and just as guests were about to have dinner.

“We had our ceremony and it was beautiful, the hall was beautiful and all of a sudden the power just died, you can rehearse everything but you can’t rehearse this,” said Misty and David Casterline, newlyweds.

Despite the less than perfect night, Eyewitness News offers congratulations to Misty and Dave and a marriage filled with light and love.
The power was restored shortly before 8:30 P.M..
