(WBRE/WYOU-TV) An All-Star Soccer Game in the Poconos will honor the memory of a former player and raise money for others.
The Schyler Herman Memorial Soccer Game will now be played at Pleasant Valley High School on Monday, June 3.
It will feature several Pros from Sky Blue FC, Boys and Girls from the school’s varsity teams and Girls from Development Academy in New Jersey.
Schyler Herman was a goal-keeper for the Pleasant Valley varsity team when she was a freshman.
She was diagnosed with leukemia and passed away in the fall of 2018 at the age of 15.
The game will help raise money to assist families with travel expenses To the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia.
“I’m sure she’s always smiling down at us with everything we’ve been trying to do to have her memory live on. She was not only a soccer player but a great person, a teammate on the team. Just an overall great kid that was taken too soon,” Said Derek Strohl, Pleasant Valley Girls Soccer Coach
Before the game, her zero-zero number jersey will be retired.
The game is Monday night at 6:00 at Pleasant Valley High School.
It was postponed from Thursday due to the weather.
