SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – If you’ve ever wanted to try your hand at swing dancing, it’s time to put on your dancing shoes. Local swing dancers are showing off their best moves for a dancing fundraiser event in Lackawanna County.
“People put their phones down and they hold hands and they connect on a different level than people are used to doing now a days. There is never ever ever ever a time you see somebody swing dancing and they’re not smiling,” Tara Pagotto, founder of Swingin’ in NEPA, said.
All the money raised this Saturday by Swingin’ in NEPA will go to Jack of Hearts PA, which was inspired by Lisa Scarfo’s son who was born with a congential heart defect.
“When people think of heart, they think of us. So if we can bring families together and provide that hope and that support it could be a really big deal,” Scarfo told Eyewitness News.
Jack of Hearts PA is grateful for the money the dancing will raise, so they can contine to help others.
For anyone who wants to join in on the dancing fun, the swing dancing event will be Saturday, February 9th at the Radisson in Scranton. Lessons will start at 7 and open dancing from 8-11pm.
