Suspect involved in hit-and-run in Hanover Township turns himself in

UPDATE: Hanover Township Police have said they have the suspect involved in the hit-and-run in custody after he turned himself in on Monday.

Emiliano Hernandez, 44 years old, from Hanover Township has been charged with a felony count of “Accidents involving Death of Personal Injury while not properly licensed” and “Drivers required to be licensed” 

Bail is set at $100,000 and a preliminary hearing is set for May 2nd in Luzerne County.

Peter Mangino, who was struck in the hit and run, is still listed as being in “Critical Condition” at the Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Police in Luzerne County are still searching for the person they say is responsible for a hit and run last night.

Hanover Township police are looking for a 2006 white ford Mustang with a black top and black strip on the side.  They say the vehicle struck a pedestrian who was attempting to cross Oxford Street around nine Saturday night.

The driver of the vehicle took off, traveling west on Oxford Street.

The victim was transported to the hospital with serious injuries.

Police say the suspect’s car is missing the passenger side view mirror, and will have damage to the front passenger side as well.  Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
