SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Scranton police say they have charged Nathan James Linder of Scranton in connection to a break-in and of vandalism at Neil Armstrong Elementary School May 29th.
Police were called to the school by Principal Christopher Lazor who said a man had entered the school around 11:15pm that night by forcing open a maintenance door on the front side of the building.
Surveillance video showed the man, now identified as Linder, went into the cafeteria then to the school gym where he spread vegetable oil on the floor, removed his clothing and began sliding across the oiled floor.
After photographs of the suspect were released to the media, including Eyewitness News, the man was identified as a former student of Scranton High School.
Police contacted Linder’s mother who brought her sone to Scranton police headquarters.
Linder is charged with a variety of charges including Burglary, Criminal Trespass and Criminal Mischief.
