SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Supporters for Democratic candidate for President Bernie Sanders gathered at Ale Mary’s in Scranton.
Despite losing the PA Primary to Hillary Clinton they say they are standing behind their candidate.
Sanders held a rally tonight in West Virginia. He told the crowd “What we are seeing on national polls which have us 15-20 points ahead of Donald Trump– far more than secretary Clinton. Almost every national poll and every state poll has us beating Trump in that margin for us is significantly larger that than of Secretary Clinton.”
Pennsylvania is one of five east coast states that went to the polls this Super Tuesday, and Sanders lost in Pennsylvania, Maryland, and Delaware, but he did pick up a win in Rhode Island.
His supporters are hopeful that the senator from Vermont could still win some upsets that would pump new life into his campaign. However, time is running out for Sanders, with only a dozen more contests he will likely need to make some tough decisions soon about the direction he wants to take his movement.
Supporters are disappointed, but they are trying to stay optimistic. Ellie Sullum, A Bernie Sanders Supporter Said “Time and time again, Bernie has lost different contests, and I’ve always said he’s in this for the long haul, and this is a movement that takes time. We are in this until the end!”
