Scranton, Lackawanna County (WBRE/WYOU) — Some students are learning what it’s like to be a refugee.

The University of Scranton put on a program that gave students a chance to experience refugee conditions.

They walked through five interactive stations, including food, water, and shelter.

After the simulation, students learned how to become advocates for refugees in their community.

This is the first time the University of Scranton hosted the refugee simulation, but organizers said they hope to make it an annual event.
