(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Students with disabilities spent their Thursday exploring what they will do with their life after high school in Schuylkill County.
Shenandoah Valley High School hosted the bi-annual Find your Direction- Transition fair for youth with disabilities event. Students were able to talk to different businesses and organizations that are hiring in the community and look at education after high school. They participated in mock interviews, breakout sessions and learned how to dress for success with a business attire fashion show.
“What we try to do is work together and identify those good things that they’re good at and they love to do. And find an employer that needs someone that loves to organize and if that’s what you love to do then I have a job for you,” Said Doreen Milot, Schuylkill Intermediate
The event was hosted by the Schuylkill Intermediate Unit 29 and Schuylkill County Transition Council. About 150 students from across the 14 county schools attended.
