Storm damages three buildings with same owner in Bradford County

ULSTER TOWNSHIP, BRADFORD COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — The National Weather Service is sending a team to Bradford County after heavy rain and strong winds left behind a path of destruction.

Phil Cole told Eyewitness News it took less than 40 seconds for the powerful storm to tear apart three of his buildings on the same street in Ulster Township — his old barn, his home, and his new workshop.

“It’s only been done for a little over a year, and now the roof is all gone,” said Cole.  “I just have so much debris to take care of and it’s overwhelming.”

Somehow, the mobile home he rents out, just feet away from the mess, is still standing.

“There was five people in there, and it went right around them,” said Cole.  “I’m so glad for that because they were out in the open with no protection at all.”

Other parts of Bradford County weren’t spared from the severe weather.  In Rome Township, a large tree ripped from its roots and collapsed onto a home.

Across the border in Wyoming County, you could smell the smoke from live power lines as they sent sparks into a front lawn.
