Standoff ends peacefully;school lock down lifted


SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Tense moments in Scranton when a standoff situation prompts two schools to go into lockdown.

  Police were called to a home on derby avenue around 8 Thursday morning after reports of a man inside the home where there were weapons.

Police say a man in his 60’s threatened his wife in the home.

The Howard Gardner Charter School and the Friendship House were both on lockdown.

The situation ended peacefully.  The school lock downs were lifted.
