Singer Death Investigation


SCOTT TOWNSHIP, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Police were searching for for Daniel Singer after they believe he stole the purse from an elderly woman
  Thursday they found his body, along with his mother’s body in her her Scott Township home.  Eyewitness News Reporter Eric Deabill is following the story,

According to Lackawanna County coroner Tim Rowland, the two autopsies just wrapped.

The people found dead have been identified as 21-year-old Daniel Singer and 58-year-old Bonnie Shelp.

 Both people were found dead at this home on Manning Road in Scott Township around 5:00 o’clock last night.

At this point – officials have not said how either person died.

As for the cause and manner of each person’s death — the coroner says they will still need to wait for toxicology testing after this morning’s autopsies to make any rulings.

One of the people found dead was Daniel Singer.

Yesterday, a warrant was issued for his arrest on robbery and theft charges connected to a purse snatching in Clarks Summit on Tuesday.

Police think he followed an 89 year old woman home from the bank and robbed her in his own driveway.

County officials confirm Bonnie a Shelp was the former Guardian Ad Litem for Lackawanna County.

She just left that post in May.

In that role, she was an attorney who represented the interest of children in court cases.

While the results of this morning’s autopsies didn’t provide any concrete results about what exactly happened — the Lackawanna County DA says there is no public danger
