Shaking the Winter Blues in Downtown Stroudsburg

News

STROUDSBURG, MONROE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – A sign for hot chocolate, but no sign of winter here in downtown Stroudsburg.

“It’s perfect,” says Frederick Catalano of East Stroudsburg.

The weather is so perfect, Yard of Ale opened its outdoor seating for the first time this season.

“And we had several phone calls of people driving by asking to reserve a table for later on today,” laughs Barry Lynch, owner, Yard of Ale.

According to the Eyewitness News & Weather app, it was 70-degrees outside on Friday afternoon.

We found many people, like Frederick Catalano, walking around in a t-shirt and shorts. He says, “it’s beautiful. I really enjoy the breeze, it’s nice and cloudy so it’s not too overbearing.”

With Stroudsburg’s Saint Patrick’s Parade right around the corner next Sunday, people hope for a lucky break with weather like this.

“It’s gorgeous. It feels like the first day of summer. It’s spring, obviously, fantastic, happy to be here,” smiles David Lonergan of Canada.

But everyone’s wondering, will spring be in full bloom anytime soon? “We’ve earned it,” Lynch laughs.

Cheers to shaking the winter blues.

Spring officially starts on Wednesday, March 20th.
