Sewer Problems

News
Nuangola, Luzerne County – A public sewer project is doing more harm than good for one man in a Luzerne County borough.  The Nuangola sewer authority switched all of the homes in the Luzerne County borough over to a public sewer system, putting in and covering the expenses for pipes up to 150 feet off of the road.  The problem is Kevin Keefe’s home sits more than double that distance and now a grind pump and alarm box sit half way onto his property, not hooked up to the house.

Keefe doesn’t feel it’s up to code.  He says  “they stuck that in just like that and then left.  Code says that the box has got to be mounted on the house or visible from your house, so if you have a problem it doesn’t blow up or burn up.”

The I-Team reached out to the Nuangola Sewer Authority no one was available to go on camera.  A project manager for the sewer authority says everything is up to code, all Keefe has to do is pay for the electricity to the grind pump.  Keefe says that’s not easy or cheap.

The I-Team will continue to try to get answer from the sewer authority in a later report
