SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) The “University of Scranton” has some bragging rights after being recognized by the the “Princeton Review” .
On Friday, U.S. Senator Bob Casey stopped by the University.
During his visit the Senator spent time with campers who are attending the University’s “Girls who Code” camp.
Princeton Review” included Scranton in a list of the best academic schools.
It also ranked the University of Scranton’s science labs among the top ten in the country.
“I want to learn more about what these young people are working on in regards to coding. but also continue to pursue and push getting more young women into computer science education because we need them for a growing economy ” the Senator Told Eyewitness News.
“Girls who Code” camp is a two week long program for middle school and high school girls.
