(WBRE/WYOU-TV) It has been two years since a Bloomsburg man was last seen. Steve Whitenight Junior’s family is not ruling out the worst – but is hoping their loved one is still out there alive. Eyewitness News Reporter Cody Butler has our story.
Steven Whitenight Senior refuses to give up hope – that one day his son will return.
“That’s actually keeps me going is that the fact of not knowing that I would never give up.”
January 14th 2016… A Thursday morning, Whitenight Jr’s 1997 Ford Probe GT was found near the Bloomsburg airport.
“It’s like he vanished.” Said Steve Senior
His cell phone and keys were the only personal items found.
His footprints led investigators onto the bridge over the Susquehanna River in Bloomsburg. But they found nothing – road salt may melted potential evidence away..
That was last sign of Steven Whitenight Jr.
“That’s the whole frustrating part is the fact that its been two years and there’s been no clues what so ever.” Said Steven Whitenight Sr.
The vehicle he left behind was locked up for evidence for nearly a year and a half. His father just got it back and he says that was his pride possession.
“I look at it everyday and it reminds me everyday of how much he enjoyed that car.”
Steve asks everyone – to take a look at his picture, remember it… It might help bring closure to the family.
“I will continue to search and keep that hope alive that he is actually alive.”
Steve says in the past two years… No bank accounts have been opened and there’s been no social media activity.
If you have any information of Steve Whitenight Jr’s whereabouts you are asked to contact Bloomsburg Police.
