Scranton Area Community Foundation Kicks off 65th Anniversary Year

(WBRE/WYOU-TV) Scranton Area Community Foundation is getting ready to celebrate 65 years.

On Wednesday the organization launched its slate of events and activities scheduled to benefit the NEPA region throughout the year in honor of its 65th anniversary.

  The organization will be helping nonprofits through special mini-grants, and the launch of the 2019 NEPA Match Day,

“They get a match from the foundation to raise money this day. It teaches people about what philanthropy is and how they can become a philanthropist and in one day, these non-profit organizations see such a return of fundraising coming in that it really helps them move their mission forward” Said Laura Ducceshi, CEO and President of the Scranton Area Community Foundation..

  Last year, the Scranton Area Community Foundation distributed more than 1.3 million in grants and scholarships.
