(WBRE/ WYOU)- A young woman developed a web site, but her goal isn’t clicks and likes. There is far more substance to it than that. And she started it while still in high school.
19-year-old Lillian stoyer, of Schuylkill Haven has always had a passion for giving back and her website, project4love.org is designed to reflect that. The site lays out volunteering and donation opportunities, as well as events for non-profit organizations in Schuylkill County.
“There is over a thousand non-profits in the community and some of them don’t even have a website or any way that you can even contact them. So I thought this is really something that takes the load off their shoulders too,” Stoyer said.
She developed the site when she was a senior in high school .
Stoyer received help from Young Entrepeneurs Academy, a program to help young people learn the ropes of business.
She also received help through Penn State.
“She was very determined and very sure of what she wanted to accomplish with Project 4 Love and it all came to fruition,” Lion Lauch Coordinator at Penn State Schuylkill said.
It’s free for organizations to partner with Project 4 Love.
Stoyer says collecting informtion is one thing, but presenting it to the public takes some extra time.
“I put it together. I make a page for them and make it look nice and pretty for them,” Stoyer said.
Lilly says it’s a win-win for everyone. If you come on to the website and fill out an application, not only are you advertising your own non-profit, but you’re also supporting project4love.org.
She hopes to expand her website beyond Schuylkill County.
“There is nothing stopping me from spreading out to the other counties as well. And hopefully one day nationwide,” Stoyer said.
And Williams believes Stoyer has the qualities to make it happen.
“She is not only a dedicated student. But she is also very dedicated to her community and giving back, Which says a lot for her character and what she will probably accomplish in the future,” Williams said.
