BARNESVILLE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — Local business leaders came together Friday in Schuylkill County. Instead of meeting in a conference room, they competed on the golf course.

The annual Schuylkill Chamber of Commerce golf outing brought out 156 golfers. The event was held at Mountain Valley Golf Course in Barnesville.

Each hole was sponsored by a local business, using the day as a way to interact with members while promoting their products.

“We do so much in the business community that has to be serious. Today’s intended to be a fun day, to come out and enjoy each other, and in the process, have a great round of golf, but also find out what our members are doing, what they stand for, said Robert Carl, Jr., President and CEO of Schuylkill County Chamber of Commerce.

Golfers also participated in a putting contest. John Schrader from Copperhead Chemical won the contest and took home a putter from Cougle’s Recycling.
