Remembering Jack Scannella

(WBRE/WYOU-TV) A TV News Pioneer has passed away.  Jack Scannella is a big part of our history here at Eyewitness News.

  He started at WGBI-TV, which became WDAU, which is now WYOU-TV. Jack started his career shooting stills, then black and white film, then to videotape.

He did his famous Friday Flashback segment for WYOU for years. Jack died at age 90 on Sunday. Photojournalist and his friend, Joseph Butash takes a look back at his stellar career along with former WYOU Videographer Jim Keenan.

The two share their memories of working with Jack Scannella.

Jack leaves behind his beloved wife Joannie of 57 years. 3 children and 7 grandchildren. Eyewitness News sends our heartfelt condolences and appreciation to Jack’s family.
