Remembering Chase Morgan

PINE GROVE, SCHUYLKILL COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU-TV)  Eyewitness News Reporter Haley Bianco has learned that 9 year old Chase Morgan of Pine Grove has lost is battle with cancer,

Chase passed away this morning.  Haley featured Chase in a story earlier this month.  Eyewitness News sends its condolences to Chase’s family.

His dad posted this on FACEBOOK this morning.

“Bring it in gang, and take a knee. We fought really hard… left everything out there on the field. That’s nothing to hang your heads about. Everybody gave a hundred percent and the whole town rallied around us. That’s something to be proud of. We lost a good kid today. Chase got called up to the big leagues, but I bet he looks handsome in his new uniform. Those wings look good on each side of the number 11. Thank you everyone for your kindness, support and generosity.”

He was a 4th grade student at pine grove area elementary school. Chase was very active in sports — his favorites were soccer and baseball. His baseball team even came up with the slogan “chase strong” which can be found on banners throughout the southern Schuylkill County community.

A funeral has been scheduled for Chase this Saturday.

Tomorrow morning at 7 a.m.  the pine grove area school district will hold a ceremony for Chase at the high school flagpole.
