SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) Several dozen people came together Thursday in Scranton — to protest legislation that is making its way through the state legislature in Harrisburg.
Senate Bill 166 is called the Public Employee Protection Act.
It recent passed the state senate — and now moves onto the house of representatives.
The legislation would prohibit unions from allowing payroll deductions for union dues that are used for political activities.
Many in the crowd say the bill moves Pennsylvania towards becoming a right to work state.
Similar rallies were held today in other parts of Pennsylvania.
