WBRE/WYOU-TV) The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders changed their name for one game, recently, to the Teddy Bears.
They asked the fans to bring a stuffed animal to the game to donate to the children at the Janet Weis Children’s Hospital in Danville.
On Friday, Eyewitness News Photojournalist Joseph Butash joined the Teddy Bears., AKA the Railriders, to deliver the stuffed animals and some sunshine, too.
The more than 200 “stuffed animals” were collected from Railrider Fans who were asked to bring them to a game earlier this season. “Our Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Teddy Bears” defeated the Pawtucket Red Sox in extra innings in a walk-off thriller 7 to 6. Great job by the Railriders and of course the area fans!!!!!!
