Propane truck down embankment on Route 6

News

MESHOPPEN TOWNSHIP, WYOMING COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There’s a detour in place on Route 6 in Wyoming County following a bad tanker crash this morning.

A tractor-trailer with a full load of propane lost control, ripped out about 100 feet of guardrail and went down a steep embankment in Meshoppen Township.

The driver was thrown from the cab and the truck got caught up in the trees.

That driver was flown to the hospital. No word on their condition at this time.

The propane company is bringing in another vehicle from New York State to off-load the propane.

It is expected to take hours before traffic returns to normal on Route 6.
