Pregnant woman and child among three dead in fire

HANOVER TOWNSHIP, LUZERNE COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) – Three people are dead, including a pregnant woman and two-year-old girl, after a fire in Hanover Township, Luzerne County Monday morning. 

The county coroner says 27-year-old John Crossley, his wife 27-year-old Julia Crossley and 2-year-old Riley Ferrera died in the fire along Little Street.  A 3-year-old was also flown to Lehigh Valley Medical Center in Allentown for their injuries.  

The coroner tells Eyewitness News Julia Crossley was pregnant.  

The fire broke out at the triple-unit home just before 3:00 Monday morning.  All the deceased are from the same unit.  No injuries are reported to the residents of the other two units, but they did have to evacuate.  

The American Red Cross is assisting all of the families affected by the fire. 

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
